01 What does Traceipt do
One receipt, doing three jobs instead of none.
A printed receipt is a dead end: the shop loses the detail, the customer loses the slip. Traceipt keeps the receipt and drops the paper.

Tap a phone on the Pad and the itemised receipt opens in the browser. No app, no account, no email address read out in a queue.

02 Why we built Traceipt
The one piece of paper nobody wants, and it cannot be recycled.
Every receipt a Pad issues is one that was never printed. That is the whole goal — narrow enough to measure, which is why the figures below are sourced.
Who it’s for
Cafés and restaurants where the queue is the constraint. Retail and service counters where a receipt still has to be readable at a return.
The Pad sits beside whatever POS is already there.
Semakau, Singapore’s only landfill, is projected to reach full capacity around 2035 at current waste disposal rates.

Since 2 January 2020, thermal paper containing bisphenol A at 0.02% or more by weight cannot be placed on the EU market. The restriction was made because of an unacceptable risk to the workers handling it — primarily cashiers.

This is an estimate, not a measurement. It counts the paper only — not the printing, the transport, the chemical coating, or the disposal. The carbon factor is a general figure for paper production and is not specific to thermal paper. Change any assumption above and the answer changes with it.
